We always face the same problem while planning our trip – how to find the perfect hotel? Who should we trust? Tripadvisor? Booking.com reviews? Photos on the hotels’ website? We hope that our new series “Bucket list hotel” will help you with choosing a unique place to stay. So, we are kicking off with Kajane Yangloni Hotel, definitely the best place to stay in Ubud.
It is not that we sleep only in 5 stars hotels. Usually, we choose an accommodation which is the most convenient for our planned route and has a reasonable value for money. However, during every trip, we like to spend at least a few days in a fabulous place where we can totally relax. This hotel must have this special feature, that distinguishes it from the others and makes really unique. It doesn’t have to be the most expensive hotel or have these 5 stars (it’s nice, when it has them, though!). It may be the service, surroundings, food or anything that turns every stay in a real celebration. Now, let me take you to Indonesia, Bali, to be precise – Ubud.
KAJANE YANGLONI HOTEL – THE BEST PLACE TO STAY IN UBUD
Many people may think that Ubud looks exactly like in the movie Eat, Pray, Love – idyllic, peaceful place, ideal for practicing yoga and relax in the spa. The truth may be unpleasant – this place has become one of the most popular spots in Bali (also because of the film, I assume), far from what is considered as an oasis of tranquility. Being aware if this, we decided to spend three days away from the Ubud city center. Reviewing different hotels, I came across a real gem – Kajane Yangloni Hotel, located a 10-minute drive from very touristy city center.
WHAT MAKES THIS HOTEL SO SPECIAL?
The hotel is more a boutique hotel, offering in total 9 rooms in the “normal” building and over-water villas located in… a rice field. As soon as I saw this information, I knew that we just have to stay in a villa!
All villas are amazing, some of them even have a private pool. Each one is built of timber in Balinese style. Every villa also has a marvelous open-air bathroom (it means also friends like some lizards or mosquitos). What impressed us the most was a bathtub, not an ordinary one – a giant piece of granite! Wow! In addition, when we arrived at the villa, our bath was filled with petals. Can life get any better than this?
Every day on the villa terrace you are served a delicious breakfast, which you pick and mix by yourself the day before (a huge range of products, yummy!). Apart from breakfast, canag sari, daily offering for the peace given to this place, will be also waiting for you on the terrace. If you get bored with watching rice growing, you can always go to the spa, yoga lessons or library. There is also a gourmet restaurant – Michal says that he ate here the best tuna steak in his life!
Finally, a few words about the service. It is Amazing (yes, with the big A!). It is not common in Bali, where hotels often want to rip off customers by sending them eg. to a spa at an inflated price. Reception employees are very hospitable and helpful, all our questions were answered with a smile.
I can strongly recommend this place. It is really one of only a few hotels around the world, where I could keep on returning… Magic, tranquil and truly relaxing experience! Definitely a bucket list hotel and the best place to stay in Ubud!
